    I figured since I was getting Jons shoes redone today I'd ask my farrier
    what he thought.
    
    His first question was: Does the horse have to be ridden?  Why not avoid
    using the horse for a few days decreasing the risk of further injury.
    
    I explained the horse is going to ridden no matter what.  He felt that if
    the horse has good feet then pull the second shoe to even things up and just
    go.

    PS: I know people who have cancelled rides because of a pulled shoe.
