[RC] Norco Ride: So California - nina bomar

Many of you may remember my post a few months past regarding the Mountain Lion accident my horses and I had experienced in Happy Camp.  For a long time, I lost my ambition to ride, partly because I was too beat up physically, but also psychologically and emotionally I was devastated.  Thank you all for the amazing heart warming condolences, love and support during that very difficult time.  It was incredibly uplifting to receive more than 100 emails from endurance riders and horse lovers who shared in my sorrow and extended themselves with incredible generosity from the heart.  Many blessing to you all!!

And for the Norco ride.....  Lynne, you put on an excellent ride Saturday.  Your mass of volunteers were fun, helpful and the ride was extremely organized as usual.  The trail was a blast and riding through so much water was a real treat (we are like shriveled prunes here in the dry hills of Malibu!).  The BBQ was delicious and the camaraderie was warm and inviting.  The best part... we even got to bring our dogs!  I also brought along my dear friend Amie and suggested that she volunteer on Saturday.  She was assigned to a portion of the trail along with two other gals and they had a ball, swimming and riding in the river and then enjoyed lunch which was delivered to them by another volunteer (hot from some fast food joint!).  I was worried sick about her as she was gone for hours, but when she rode into camp with her new found friends, I could immediately see she a great day (big smile on her face).  Her horse is a wild Mustang and we call him Pony Boy (real name Blue for his one blue eye) and he too enjoyed his day munching on all the edibles along the trail.

    Many thanks. Nina
