Re: [RC] CTR trot out; lazy horse - Debbyly

This is a training issue. She needs to train the horse to trot out in hand.
Find someone who knows how to train a horse to trot out and then work on it
at home regularly. I have had very bitter experience with this. My horse
Isa (now long retired) was very lazy about trotting out at vet checks. We
were pulled at 97 miles at the World Equestrian Games in Stockholm. What
they wrote on the vet card was "reluctant to trot". You can imagine I
trained him to trot out after that. He was never great, but he got much
better. I did round pen work with him and got him to trot with me without a
    halter and lead.
