Where in the Northern California can you ride straight from your house/boarding stable into the HILLS/training routes? Oh, also as we are not retiring anytime soon, we would need to be near a sizeable city for job opportunities. Excellent school district is another must have. We ideally do not want to pay for private school. Two kidlets in preschool is expensive as is right now.

I think the Mt. Diablo area is supposed to be good and also perhaps north/east of San Jose. I am less familiar with the Sacramento and central CA area.

Could endurance riders up in NorCal shed some light on this for me. We live in the northern Los Angeles area and are fortunate to be able to ride up into the Angeles Crest National Forest. Hopefully these hills/mountains will never be developed and access to trails compromised.

We're just doing some homework for the future. Thanks ahead of time.
