    We have lots of those, plus the deer flies around the creek here.  The best
    thing I've found is a thorough dousing of Pyrahna spray.  At Old Glory, I
    soaked Chief in it and we followed a horse that had a cloud of the big
    flies following them.  The rider had to grab a branch to keep brushing them
    away mid air.  Chief and I didn't get a single bite.
