| [RC] English Saddle after 30 years... - Kari HanesWell, I just got back from my first ever ride with an English saddle. My
mare was starting to get a few white hairs and I knew it was time for a
change if I'm going to keep up with this many miles a week. I never knew
what I was missing, what a difference! I was going to order a tucker
endurance but now I'm not sure. My daughter said I looked like a yard
sale...one ear western head stall with a hack, californy reins (my
hubby's words not mine), roper boots and an english saddle! I'm ready
for my first ride but I need to find one close to home. Anyone know of
anything scheduled in Michigan where I could get my feet wet? Is there a
website besides AERC that has a complete listing of events? Should I
jump right into a 50 miler or start with LD or CTR? I'm working at
approximately a 7 mile an hour pace, three to four times a week. Tonight
my mare felt like she could go for another couple hours, she really
seemed to like the different saddle.

 TIA
Kari
