Having recently gotten toasted for suggesting improving ones' seat might help alleviate fear, all I can say, Lif, is you had 
better get out your fire-proof parka!
I'll never argue against the suggestion that improving one's
riding is a good idea, BUT... NOT ALL ACCIDENTS ARE THE FAULT
OF THE RIDER!!!  Even the best rider can get tossed, or the horse can fall under her/him, or a low-flying branch can 
clock you in the head.  Skill can't save you every time.
I'd really hate for anyone to get the idea that they are too good
to need a helmet.  Sh*t happens: be prepared.
