Re: [RC] Where are all the Arabian track horses??? - Jon . Linderman

I too have been interested in a retired Arab race horse & done a bit of
poking around. Here is what I was told by several rescue people who move
ALOT of TB's and Stdbreds into pleasure careers. Arab racing is still
somewhat of a hobby by comparison, with limited meet dates, and the horses
are not stabled at the track like harness and TB' horses. Most, not all,
are not run into the ground, and are often rettrained by race owners, or
others to go onto second careers. I have seen ads in the Endurance News
for ex-racers and on arabianhorseamerica.com for "retired racers as well.
If you look on the Arabian Jockey site you can see where the meets are
held: CA, MI, TX, and others and see if there is a state near you w/a meet,
there might be a trainer nearby. Somewhere, can't remember where, there
was a guy in Arakansas who was a race trainer/breeder, but then after their
careers turned them into pleasure and endurance mounts. Has a website
somewhere. Thats my 2 cents, half of which might be accurate.

TB's are everywhere off the track so where are all the Arabians off the
track???? Are their any websites for them? I have looked and not found
any....I'm just curious since Arabians are my favorite:) I have one horse
that is off the track but I bought him from someone who had already trained
    him. THanks! Colleen
