When I was 19 and happened to be in Washington State camped next to a 
*very* inviting cherry orchard, I got a paper bag and went cherry 
picking.  I immediately realized that I couldn't reach the branches, so I 
climbed on the back of a horse I'd never seen before who was just hanging 
out in the orchard and stood on it's rump in order to pick gallons of 
cherries - the horse didn't move.  While I'd say that that was one stupid 
thing to have done, I have to confess it's not the stupidest and the end 
results were pretty fine - fresh cherries, cherry pie, cherry cobbler, and 
when we were tired of all the cherries (by now we had made it up to BC), we 
traded the remaining half bag for fresh caught Idaho trout.
