I agree. I know of several people who ran out and got everything to do with
the over marketed John Lyons, threw up a round pen and proceeded to 'train'
their horse. What happened is they ended up running their horse around and
around, got a saddle on them, took them out on the road, got thrown, sold
the horse, sold the round pen and took up golf.

To me, a lot of these methods, not all, are just more snake oil. This is a
quick fix, and Americans love nothing more than a quick fix, note all the
diet pills out there. The quick fix sells, nobody wants to put time into
their horses, it is much easier to think you can just run them around a
round pen for a few hours and your good to go. It's too bad that so many
people are sold on this method.

I am not impressed either. I strongly feel that all horses should have
solid ground manners before saddle work begins. This sort of stunt - and I
must call it a stunt - just leadfs people to believe that horse training can
be 'qwik-n-eezy'. I'm sorry, but I think you need, above and beyond
anything else, no matter what technique you use, to take TIME to train a
    horse.
Going from Never-Worn-a-Halter to working under saddle in under two hours:
is that REALLY any better than the old fashioned bucking-bronc style
breaking? What kind of lessons is the horse learning here? HOw much is he
really understanding of what is wanted of him? When does the melt-down
come? I woulde LOVE to talk to someone who has taken one one of these
wonder-horses after one of these 'miracle' sessions!
