    "I refuse to go to anything other than an eggbutt snaffle" Well,,minds are like parachutes,remember.Olympian David O'Connor and other of the cross-country eventers often use ferocious gag bits DISGUISED as snaffles.(See recent cover of Practical Horseman and look very carefully at the reins where they slide throught the rings of the "gag-snaffle".)Im not saying bits are the answer to everything,but they have their place,and most are poorly understood.Best wishes.Ray O.
