[RC] Tall Man's Saddle(?) - Ridecamp Guest

No such thing, really. There are many disadvantages to being a tall rider, but finding a saddle isn't one of them. The stirrup leathers are adjustable! Nor are "seat length" considerations particularly a function of the length of the legs.I know plenty of tall guys who ride, and I am about 6-2.Tell your man to pick a starter saddle he likes,of a medium seat length ,and hop on.Most women will take a longer seat length than men,for reasons of...er, accomodation.Re seat length "dimensions",remember: These are gibberish in all cases, EXCEPT when comparing two otherwise identical make and models saddles. For example:Merely moving the fore and aft position of the stirrup leather slot/hanger has a huge influence on supposed "seat length".If the upper portion of the pommel is angled forward,or if the profile at the point where the seat rises up toward the cantle is very concave,do the makers of the saddle say the "seat length" is longer? No,they don't.Some things are nearly unquantifiable, and fore-and-aft saddle seat space/security is one of them!
