    Just to clarify.....
    
    I did make a comment that the vet schools are teaching not to treat a wound
    with anything you wouldn't put in your eye.  However, that comment applies
    to soft tissue wounds, ie muscle/flesh wounds.  Abcesses and puncture wounds
    in hoofs are a different story.  At CSU, we soak abcessed feet in a strong
    betadine and warm water solution---far too strong for a flesh wound, but
    works nicely for abcesses and such.  For flesh wounds, CSU strongly advises
    saline solutions or betadine diluted to the color of weak tea.
