I am forwarding this post (with the original posters permission) in case
anyone is interested in learning alot about hooves.  Martha does a hoof
dissection at her clinics, and it (along with the trimming info) is very
educational.  She was a farrier for many years before studying (and becoming
certified) by Dr Strasser.  Martha Olivo's website is

thoroughly enjoyed her clinic, and learned a ton.
