Ridecamp: [RC] Masculine mare

I also have a mare that is rather aggressive with the crest.  And darn, she
is awesome and straight Russian at that!  After observing  her all season
and palpating and giving Prostin shots at the appropriate time, we
discovered she is ovulating exactly on time, but is a silent heater.  We
took her to Madison Avenue(see web page), bred her just at the "right time"
and were prepared with hobbles, ace, and twitch.  She stood perfectly for
the stallion, but never showed heat!  I am hoping ...but not very
optomistic.  I'll let you know in 30 days!
Otherwise, your best bet is to turn her out with an experienced
stallion...he'll know the right time!
