RE: [RC] Masculine Mare - Snodgrass, Bonnie
I believe that I had read in a magazine article about breeding that some of
these agressive or masculine mares that compete successfully against the
colts actually have hormaone imbalances. Too much testosterone versus
estrogen which then makes them difficult to get in foal. One mare comes to
my mind that is actually cresty and has been agressive in a very stalliion
like manner all her life. I do not recall what magazine I had read this in,
just that it was years ago.
