An experienced mountain rider told me the best way to make your horse
fall off the edge is to think about it. You look where you don't want to
go, and your horse is going to take you there. Just to prove it, the
little mare I was riding at the time slipped and almost fell into the
creek I was looking at. Later on, we galloped across a high ledge - eyes
focused on the far side. The lesson here - look where you want your
horse to go. Darn few of them are suicidal.
