[RC] Mark of Fire aka "Huck" - Barbara Jacinto

I am responding for Carmen Altemueller (she is having computer problems) regarding the breeding and name of the horse Tom Christofk rode this year at Tevis. I do this because I am an follower of the Altemueller breeding program, so much so that I bought a stallion from them 12 years ago (MS Ibn Gdansk (Gdansk x Miss Fire)) and also leased an Ibn daughter bred to Immafire (Port Hallany x Miss Fire) bought by Jim Porter. This daughter was also the dam of the horse Chuck Mather rode this year on Tevis. (MS Ibn Gdansk is unfortunately no longer with us.)

Mark of Fire (aka Huck) is 31/32 Arabian, sired by Immafire (Port Hallany (Port Bask x Hallany Mistanny) x Miss Fire (El Tio (Witez II x El Sikada) x Cerce (Jaquar x Nefartitti)). His dam was a Serafix, Alyf, and Rasyn bred mare.

Miss Fire also sired numerous National and Canadian champions in the show ring: Hearrts on Fire+,  and Bint Miss Fire (who has been bred to Bey Shaw numerous times) to just name two.

This is probably more information than you really care to know, but as you can see his breeding was no accident (and he is not related to Huckleberry Bey). There is a great story in a past issue of the Arabian World about Miss Fire and Carmen's father's quest to find his "dream mare."
