IntNewsGroup: Horse passports at CEI rides

Subject: horse passports at CEI rides

Dear all,
The Endurance Committee has requested, and the FEI has agreed, that
passports not be required at CEI rides in the United States for 2002.

If a horse already has an FEI passport or a national passport, that will be
perfectly acceptable.

If, however, a horse competing at a CEI in the U.S. this year does not
already have a passport, there is no need to apply for one. All horses
without passports will need three things:
1) identification (a thorough Coggins, for example);
2) proof of flu vaccinations in accordance with FEI standards; and
3) registration with their NF (for U.S. horses, this means at least an
annual recording with USA Equestrian).

We'll send full details on these three requirements in the mail.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Jennifer
