    Oh Angie!

How MUCH out of pain do you want to be? Do you want
to remain conscious & breathing on your own??? Do you
have an IV in, would you prefer to swallow a pill, or
    wear a patch?

Ya'll want a bit part in a Lighter Side article? I
     need a list of human
pain killers. A joyfully extensive one. If I am in
     a 100, and yell "my
knees hurt, anybody got any drugs?" What are you
     going to offer me to
     kill the pain?

A quarter of a tab of bute. It has risks (http://www.focusonmedications.com/Script/Main/Art.asp?li=MNI&ArticleKey=709) and will give you a unique queasy feeling for about 48 hours, but it will take care of your knee pain (I've only used it once, when a severe flare-up of plantar fasciitis left me barely able to walk or care for my horse at a ride -- I knew the blood disorder risks but apparently dodged the bullet.) Not for casual use.
