Interestingly, I was reading last night about transitional cell carcinomas
(the most common cancer type causing urinary bladder tumors in dogs) and one
of the risk factors mentioned was the use of flea and tick sprays and dips
on a regular basis. Based on the research, it seems that it's not the
active insecticide chemical used in the product, it's the "inert" petroleum
distillates which get stored in fat tissues and eventually (possibly) cause
problems. Urk. Colorado isn't flea country, but that's the last time my
dogs get flea and tick spray or dip on them. I'll use another insecticide
strategy next time I need it.

So....motor oil on my ponies? Not freakin' likely.
