RE: [RC] [RC] Pasture - Sarah Zegers

    Bob,
I had a horse develop a real sore mouth from Cheat Grass; it looked like
she had fur all around her gums, which was the imbedded cheat grass. As
for the the Prickly Lettuce, my horses love it and will stop on the
trail to grab a mouthful! The book, "Edible Weeds of California" calls
it the "Mother of all lettuces", and says it contains lots of essential
minerals. It also contains a very mild analgesic. Michael Moore,
"Medicinal Plants of the Desert and Canyon West" (Museum of New Mexico
    Press, 1989, pg. 128).

    Sarah Zegers
