[RC] bare feet - Brenda L. Kossowan

Hi gang: I would like to hear some comments from veterinarians and
farriers regarding barefoot horses. We have a farrier in our area who
has started using the methods and reporting good results. However, I
would like to see an objective analysis of this approach - if that's
possible. Certainly, in long distance competition, a healthy foot is the
fulcrum upon which all other factors swing. I remember riding miles and
miles on barefoot horses when I was a kid - and I don't think they were
any tougher, although I was certainly 40 or 50 pounds lighter. :)
