[RC] Feeding an Idle horse: Kicking horse etc. - Brenda L. Kossowan

Re grain and the stallbound horse - I can't see ANY reason to give grain
to a horse that is on stall rest. What is he supposed to do with all
that energy? Take a normal kid, feed him a couple of chocolate bars,
then strap him into the back seat of the car for two hours. Do you think
he's going to sit there nice and quiet? Uh huh. I would cut the horse's
rations to crude hay with lots of water and a salt block until he's
ready to get out and work.
