    You're confusing "amount" with "concentration."  The electrolytes are
    administered in a higher concentration than typically found in nature,
    but the amounts being given are not abnormal, they do not raise the
    amount in the body to abnormal levels, in fact they do not even
    replace all that is being lost through sweat.
