[RC] tip of the day for newbies - Sarah McIntosh

    Hi guys:

just wanted to share with you one little trick i discovered.
both of my horses were a bit unnerved at ridecamps because of all the flagging tape everywhere, marking lanes and whatnot.

After some frustrating high HRs due to ribbons everywhere, I had a moment of enlightenment!!!!  I could run flagging tape all over the place at home to get them used to it!!!  Maybe obvious to some, but took me a few years to think of this.

It was hilarious at first.  I put up 40 feet of the bright yellow caution tape by the watering tub.  My younger Arab was racing back and forth, never getting any closer than 30 feet from it.  Within 1 day,  they are both very calm around blowing tape and I am so happy about this.  I can hardly wait for Rainbow Ride in Merritt, BC this weekend.

Tawny & I are trying her first 50.  Should be a great day!!

    Happy riding!
