[RC] Small horses/people, aging equines/people - Lonnie Ruesch

    Hi, All,
I'm 4'11 l/2" (the l/2 is very important) and have two horses - one l4h mare and a l5h gelding. Much prefer mounting/dismounting the small one because I always have to look for a rock or ledge to get on the bigger. And being on the older side I don't bend like I used to (or did I ever?). As for aging, my little mare is 21, keeps going like the energizer bunny, and we are getting ready to do the Tevis (our first 100). Now we don't plan on winning it - just want to "endure" it, but I have more confidence in her than I do myself (and assurances from three different vets that she is able). Any advice from those out there that are experienced 100 milers?
    Lonnie
