    [RC] Cooling - Adelia85

Try using Soft ice packs for cooling at vet checks.  The large envelope sized packs seem handiest.  Keep them in a separate cooler from food,  so they will not be opened up as frequently.  Put the pack on your head, on your neck, or my personal favorite, the upper chest.  These will cool you down quite nicely.  I have been known to put one on the poll of my horse right under the bridle/halter.  Helps the horse too.  I learned this on long hot horse show days but have used it since for everything from soccer tourneys to scout camp with heat exhaustion first aide.
