Re: Akhal-Tekes: scientific evidence clearly points to the origins of the 
breed at 2500 BC. They are taller and lankier than the Arab, however there 
are 17 distinct lines of the breed. Some tend to appear more "warmblood," 
others more TB, and interestingly, there is a line named after the founding 
stallion, "Arab" that appears more Anglo-Arab. I would suspect that the 
foundation of the Russian Arab, known for it's height, would have resulted in 
some breedings with Akhal-Tekes. For more information on the history and the
