Ridecamp: [RC] helmets and liability

My son was hurt at football practice once, and the medical insurance paid his bills.  Afterwards they also kept sending me letters wanting to know who hit him, who was responsible, etc.  After ignoring a few, they finally sent a registered letter that informed me I would be liable for all medical expenses if I didn't answer the questions.  I finally did, informed them that my son was tackled by a large group of football players and they all want to claim responsiblity :0)  Don't know if they every tried to sort it out.
