[RC] another elyte question - amber applegate

Okay, I am back with more questions.

When we last had the big E-lyte discussion, I was more than confused. Use or
not to Use? so I am starting this four year old this season, first one for
both of us. I was finally convinced to use the elytes. so I started using
them about 6 weeks ago, giving half the dose to get him used to them as I
    was advised to do.

today, since we have Sunriver coming up next week and I have not been able
to ride for a ton of lame reasons for a month, I said come heck or high
water, we are going today. So I give him the full dose of Enduro Max, in the
syringe with only water, no applesauce or yogurt.

We started out on a very easy ride and probably a little over a mile into it
he kept stopping. I noticed that the last few rides I have taken him on he
has done this too. This time however, it was the worse. he just kept
stopping and turning his head into my boot.

I was so frustrated with this that after three miles, I just turned around
and came home. on the way home, he continued to stop and turn his head into
my boot. I got off and walked him, he still stopped. He peed and the color
was fine, but this stopping especially on the ride back was disturbing.

When we got to the back of my place, it is steep so I always get off and
walk him down the hill, he stopped and just put on the brakes and wouldn't
move forward. I am thinking that this is not lazyness or from not being out
    for a few weeks.

A friend of mine in Oregon City who is a long time long mile endurance rider
called me and I told her that I was going to have to cancel the season as I
just don't think the horse has it in him. She was very surprised as she has
kept tract of how well we have been training. Then she mentioned the Enduro
Max and she thinks that is what is causing him to all of a sudden do this
    odd behavior.

What is the concensus? Please email me privately as I am only on as a poster
    now.

Thanks all, I hate to quit before I even get started. But this really has me
worried. He will only be doing 25 milers keep in mind.
