[RC] What is wrong with my trailer?!? - Snodgrass, Bonnie
I have a brand new trailer. It is my first goosneck. I also got a new truck
in Dec, a Chevy Silverado 2500HD (duramax diesel!) 4X4. I've trailered my
older mare three times now in the gooseneck, a 3H slant w/extended dressing
room, all-aluminum. The trailer is really bouncy. I noticed that she was a
bit reluctant to load the second time, did it after I gave her a stern word,
again rolled her eye at me the third time. She wasn't like this with my old
3-H slant Trailet, bumper pull. I can feel the trailer kinda bouncing the
truck up and down when I go over dips and such. Also find my bridles, and
other tack has jumped right off the bridle hooks and saddle racks! Is my
truck suspension too soft? Is this difference common with goosenecks? The
weight of the trailer unloaded is listed as 4200lb. I went back to the
manufacturers web site to check the type of axles and added the links below.
I've got to change something to stop reduce this bouncing. Any ideas? For
now I'll drive even slower. Here I am with a truck that can finally pull a
trailer up a hill with gusto and I have to slow down! And no, I'm not
causing the problem from suddenly driving like a maniac. HELP!!!!
