Hello,
My friend suggested I post this to remind everyone of the importance of always doing a pre-purchase vet check prior to buying. I had what may have been a close call with a horse advertised as an endurance prospect. The seller told me this horse had no health problems and one owner. Anyway, its a small horse community where I live and I was lucky to find out the real history when a friend recognized the horse's name. I discovered that this horse that I inquired about was previously placed in the area as a "rescue horse" due to stifle problems. I don't know his full history, but enough to be concerned about the conflicting information I have now received.
I'm sure this is not new and misrepresentation has been happening for as long as there have been horses and horse traders. Buyer beware!
