    [RC] Justa Lament - goearth

Sitting here so tired from work that i only want to watch the birds shit from the wire out side my window and wonder why  they just live their lives as they see fit and we humans convey feelings of aspiration to whatever cause we see fit.  What has endurance taught me?  That to go down the trail and traverse it as methodically as possible ....one step in front of the other  1 step at a time.  Small steps taken gradually over time can cover vast distance.  When we go too fast we foul up.  One step at a time.  That theory has helped me in everything i do.  Its when we hurry and forget that too many strides in between make us fall.  And i have fell many times over many things in life.  Endurance to me is a most Noble aspiration.  I've known Olympian Athletes who are the essence of Epicurus  in training.  I never met any at an endurance ride.  Tho we train our horses we are not atheletes.  R&T showed me just how much they go thru and we just sit back off center  mostly and  they allow us to be  on their back and its our ego not theirs.  So WHY do we want to even consider ourselves Olympians?  we're not.  Our Horses are. tom sites
