RE: [RC] Ulcer Research/USA Druggies? - Bob Morris

    Now Mike:

No wimpling out on us at this point. We have not had
anything worthwhile to get our teeth into in some time.

I agree that if I had a horse that showed signs of ulcers I
certainly would take care of them. But, considering what the
references you gave indicated as symptoms, I doubt if very
many endurance riders would even consider taking the horse
to a ride. If I were treating the horse for ulcers I would
never consider taking it to a ride in fear of aggravating
them. No sense to treat and while doing it prolong the
    problem.

Mike, it is good to bring these things into the open so we
all can discuss them, even if we cut your throat while doing
it. Well, guess we would not cut your throat actually but I
would not trust some of these females on line with a knife
for fear of what they would cut.

Jeez Louise sports fans, I don't make up this stuff, I'm
    simply passing on
the info I've found. I think it's also quite easy to be in
    denial about
lots of things regarding our horses, so each of you can do
    with the info
what fits into your own personal framework.

So if the number was 50% or 25%, would that make you more
    certain that your
horse didn't have an ulcer? If you had an ulcer, would you
    suffer with the
pain or treat it? Ulcers HURT. If I had a horse with an
    overt problem like
    this, I'd treat it.

On the topic of endoscoping at a ride, I have to agree with
    Bob and Truman -
I want to get as much food and water back into my horse as
    possible at the
end of ride, not withhold it.

The current research is showing that most (90%) performance
    horses have

I find this hard to believe....Cora
