RE: RE: arab lines that do well in endurance

Good points Kathy. Speaking of mountains, when I went to Virginia for the
first time I went looking for the "Blue Ridge Mountains". Coming from
California I expected "Mountains" all I saw were hills. I even asked a
local if those were the Blue Ridge Mountains, and he said those were it. I
said those aren't mountains, those are just hills. He gave me a dirty look.
I told him if he wanted to see real mountains to come out west. He was not
amused. LOL

There are some people that argue that a flat croup is a desireable
characteristic for long distance competitions... I like the sloping croup
because we have lots of mountains out West, and feel like the sloping croup
is more powerful for those long hill climbs.

Jim Holland thinks he's got a lot of mountains in his neck of the woods, but
we have bigger mountains!

I have a Bey Shah grandson who is 7yrs old and has 1500 endurance
miles, mostly middle of the pack. He was high point yearling colt in halter
in Florida 1995. He has excellent bone and confirmation. Of course the mares
line goes back to Kayoum and Khemosabi. He does not have a very long back
but he does have the flat croup which I do not like, it does not seem to
interfere with his performance. Also he is only 14.2 and that is why he was
gelded as they want those big tall Arabs for the show ring and breeding. We
are getting ready to do his first 100.
