Ken, thank you for clarifying the issue.  “Wrong Way Mayeda” probably just spazzed out and got my story mixed up with another horse.  My point of this post was that I am in awe of the accomplishment, not to put down the rider.  I apologize if this discussion gets out of hand any more than it did.  I witnessed it first hand, and I was truly impressed with this rider’s horsemanship to pull this off.  I know I couldn’t do this myself because I have yet to refine my ability to read a horse’s condition as well as this rider.

Don't feel too bad Kathy....you just got rapped by the RC mania.  Granted not all of your story was the total facts but as usual, ridecamp readers picked up on some of it and came unglued and called a friend of ours an imbecile, among other things.  It sort of comes with the territory.  People tend to read something and then it gets totally out of hand with most of the opinions coming from people who were not there, don't know who they are talking about and probably wouldn't know if they were there.  Everyone knows exactly how horses should or should not be handled and are not afraid of telling you, even if they haven't a clue.  You just have to get used to it.  The opinions expressed are just that opinions....and not always intelligent ones.  Try asking some of the more rabid of the posters, exactly how many miles they have done......Anyway, we know the rider is a very caring and knowledgeable person and I would let him ride my horses.......That's the best thing I can say about another rider.......maryben
