Heidi,
If there is one thing I have learned in the last couple of years especially
is that I can plan all I want to but my ride schedule is going to boil down
to the above.  I can say I want to ride so many miles at such and such ride,
but if the horse isn't ready mentally or physically, I have to scrap it.
That's, of course, not counting the scraps due to Murphy and his law!  I
have a lot I'd like to achieve with Malik and it's not easy being
patient...it's hard to "wait and see" sometimes.  I want to set my goals and
go get 'em but ultimately, it boils down to what is best for my horse!
