Young,slow horse

Dear Karen,

 

My friend constantly moaned about her young(4) small arab,very typey,western pleasure type.Too quiet,too slow,too small!First ride ever(a 25) they walked off with every award imaginable.Second ride he fought to go and flat out galloped for the first ten miles-also placed.In the meantime he muscled up and became a little powerhouse.Moral to this story?Take her to a ride and see if she's competitive,she may surprise you!
