Ground Control Shoes

Has anyone used these?  Can't find a reference to them in the archives.
What I'd like to know is this:

1.  on rocky terrain, are they good for one shoing or can you get a
reset out of them?

2.  do they come loose?  (I had read somewhere that plastic shoes have a
tendency to come loose when nailed)

3.  Can the shoes be shaped to the hoof or is the hoof being shaped to
fit the shoe?
