trot,trot,trot

Pat Parelli has a very effective way to train your horse not to get in front of you.  It works!
Lead horse on a loose lead.  As soon as she gets in front of you, you turn 180 degrees in the opposite direction and if her rear is still within striking distance, pop her on the rear with your hand, rope, whip or whatever you have.  Then calmly return to walking or trotting in the direction you were heading.  This takes maybe two or three times and before you know it, she will be at your shoulder paying attention to you because she never knows when you'll be making your 180 turn and she knows if she's at your side you will not turn, but if she's in front of you, her butt will be within striking distance if you turn quickly.  If you're leading her on her left side, you turn away from her to the left.  Learning the porcupine game in level 1 will keep her out of your space and correct the coming in on you at an angle problem.
