My Russian Orlov/Arabian gelding Nature's Nikita suffered an injury when
he was 3 years old which caused sweeny in his right shoulder.
Within a few years, the muscle had filled back in, and he subsequently has
finished well at tough 100's such as Washoe and the Manitoba Pan
Americans.
Give him time, and exercise.  Good luck
