Yes, I have seen another horse do  this.  the owner now allows about 20
minutes to girth the horse up.  A notch or 2 and then walk away.  It works
for this horse, and no further episodes of fainting.  the horse passed out
several times before the cause was identified. the owner decided that she
couldn't cure the horse of this habit, so would work around it.  No fainting
episodes for several years now.

 the cinch. This is a 5 year old mare who has not been ridden very much.
