RE: Survey:Horse Habits/Idiosyncrasies

I have a 7 yo mare that loves to have her stomach/teat area scratched. She
sticks out her neck and wriggles her mouth all around while groaning in
ecstacy. If you continue scratching she spreads her hind legs and squats
down to rub on your hands harder. She has even lifted a hind leg like she
is thinking of scratching with it like dogs do when you rub their tummies.

I also have 2yo filly that likes to "help" with all the projects. If a
hammer, nails, pliers, roll of wire-anything is left alone for a second it
is carried off to be checked out. When you turn around your tool is missing
and the hunt is on! This is great fun with the bugs on a summer afternoon
in Florida. I'll set the paint brush down to shoo flies or take a sip of
water and presto- my bay becomes a pinto and my clothes are smeared!
Both are Arabs by the way. A gray and a gray in the making.

Does your horse have an out-of-the-ordinary habit or idiosyncrasy? I'm not
necessarily looking for neurotic behavior, but things that horses do that
makes them happy. (For instance: A mare that appears to be having great
difficulty getting up after a roll is actually scratching her belly by
rocking back and forth on the ground.)
Please give the breed, age, and sex of the horse you are reporting about.
