I too, had good luck with a grey who had many melanomas.  She was 8-10 when
I got here from the killer auction, she had lumps then.  She raced about
1500 miles until she was 18 or 19 - many BCs .  She had a healthy foal
(maybe her first?), concieved on one cover, at about 20, and is still in my
field at 26 or 28 years of age.  I rode her 15 miles last weekend.....She
still has melanomas on her tail, vuvla and anus.  My husband (a vet) says
most likely she will die of old age at 40.
