Re: Dog Rules

This is a ride manager's problem. I think AERC has enough to deal with
without having to make rules about dogs. This is how people in a democracy
lose their freedoms.....inch by inch, demanded by various interest groups
who expect the governing body make rules to prevent some problem. Trouble
is, the problem is never completely solved, and all we do is give up our
freedoms, little by little. Each ride manager must deal with this in his or
her own way. Some rides have no problems with dogs. I have had, over many
years. The solution will be different for each manager. So far, the best
luck I've had is the separate camping area. And, if I see a dog in camp, on
leash or not, the owner is required to take the dog back to his trailer.
It's not foolproof, but it's better than whatever else there is.
