Re: RC: Re: Electrolytes for People

When I first started using it they didn't have a product without vit C. So I've never tried it. If I take Gatoraid for a 100 mile ride, I will most likely barf during the ride and feel like hell afterwards. A friend who is a teaching pro tennis player reccomended this to me. She said after she started using it she had no problems playing and teaching all day long - day after day in the FL summers.

So I tried it on my next 100. I carry two bottles of water - one with the emergen-c and one without. I will replinish them at checks and when I see someone with water, my crew or someone elses:-). I normally go through two bottles water per every one of the emergen-c on the trail. On that 100 I probably went through 4 or 5 packages and I felt just absolutely wonderful after the ride and I felt fine the next day. I've used it ever since. I might try the non C version since too much C might cause a problem.

Interesting.  I checked out the web page.  Certainly more available thanUltimareplensher (WalMart, Rite-Aid, etc.), and it comes in multiple flavorsand a no-cal version :-)! Have you tried their straight electrolyte product, the one without the Vitamin C,the one they call Electro-Mix?

I've found the best product that works for me is Emer'gen-C by Alacer. It keeps me going with out making me barf with long term uses like you have in an endurance ride.  Gator Aid was never designed for 6, 7, 14 or 20 hours of constant intake.
