Gracelyn,
    Some mustangs do very well in endurance, just like some, but not all,
arabs do.  Look at Robin Hood ridden by Michelle Shaw.  My main horse this
summer on xp2001 was my  Spanish Mustang.  He's only 6 so I took it easy
mile-wise.  He can keep up with arabs all day but isn't "top 10" material.
(We don't finish at the very end either).  So, I'd suggest setting reasonable
(i.e., not horse hurting) goals and then finding a horse that can succeed.
Mustangs aren't arabs and IMHO are a darned sight better in many ways!
