RE: RE:Research on Boot Info:
Tammy,
Tammy, Tammy...

Are we
feeling a bit defensive today? ;-)  Did I ever say not to use
them?  That they're inherently evil?!  Geez, get off that "touchy"
button and relax, will ya?

I hate
to be repetitive, but since you obviously didn't get what I said the first time,
I'll repeat it once more from my earlier post:

"I
have heard of (not so) Easy Boots  having a tendency to come off, and can
be difficult to apply depending on the size and shape of your horse's
hooves.  Then again, others have good success with them.  So, try
riding a limited distance 10-15 mile training ride at first;  if they fall
off during that time, it might be a good indication that you might have better
luck with some of the other boots that are on the market.  Also look for
signs of rubbing, etc.  Then you can increase your distance
accordingly.  After all, nobody knows your horse as well as you
do. "

Note
that I said "tendency to come off", not anything along the lines of "They always
come off".  Do you understand the difference here?  And what about
that part about "others have had good successes with them"?!   What
could possibly be wrong with mentioning that there are other products to try as
well, especially if one is not experiencing good results with the easy
boots?  Geez, you almost sound like you're the sole distributor for
Easyboots or something!  I guess if you want to get offended about
something, you ultimately will if that's what you choose.

I
disagree; I don't think any Ridecampers will find the mention of other products
that function similarly and are viable alternatives as being "silly".
Maybe it's just you?   Just because those boots don't work well
with some horses hooves doesn't make the rider applying them an idiot... maybe
the shape of that horse's hoof doesn't work well with that particular
boot?  It's a stretch, I know, but *still* a possibility.  Why don't
we all use the same saddles and pads and...and...and....?  'Cause some
stuff works for some, and not as great for others... what a
concept!

Good point, but why expend precious time and energy of making
something fit when there are other products on the market that funtion just
as well (if not better) and are easier to apply and remove?  Options
    are a good thing!

    And your experience, miles, and
studies of the above statement are.....?  How many endurance rides/miles
did you say you've done with all of the theories you have explained?

I would think Karen's experience, miles and field
experience of using Easyboots, far exceeds what you just said.

If you only knew how silly all of this sounds to
the riders that have done thousands of miles with Easyboots on, you would quit
talking......and start listening if you want to do this sport.

The people on ridecamp are here to share ideas in
how to do the best they can in endurance and other extensive trail riding.
We're not here to put our horses through pain to try a laymans idea.
When the studies are done, then boost about it.  Until then, go
experiment with a lot of horses on different terrains, with different breeds,
on different nutrition doing 1000's of miles.  Then after that you will
have to divide all that up and find out what worked, what didn't and why.

When you learn how, like I said, it only takes
less than a minute to put on an Easyboot.  I think most people have a
  minute or two....
That's my opinion....
