Thanks for the info, Nina. Learn something new every day! Going by the 
picture in the NE Serum catalog, it looked very impractical. Having it on 
your belt would make the difference.
  I remember asking my blade sharpener about the cable clippers & he said 
for dog grooming the cable was too restrictive.  I could use the power, 
though.

The cable clipper by Double K is actually designed for horse grooming.  The 
motor is housed in a compact case (4"X 6") and maybe weighs a total of three 
pounds.  It can be strapped to your belt and the cable does not touch the 
floor (it's about 3-4 ft long).  You can also view it at the New England 
Serum Website.  They sell the same Double K version, but for dog grooming.  
I recommend the model for horse clipping specifically for its belt 
attachment.
